Steam Mills

In 2018, an intergenerational project between Steam Mills Primary School and Crossroads Care Forest of Dean took place. The project explored themes and subjects that the primary school pupils were studying at school, allowing them to expand their knowledge and learn from others in the community.  

With the older adults who attend the day care centre, the Year 5 and Year 6 pupils started to think about Mayans and Mexican culture. The group started the project with personal collages about memories and the things they liked making, and by the end of the project were creating headdresses and clay sculptures! 

A celebration of the project was held at Foxes Bridge Day Centre.
