Over July and August our Public Living Room is on tour across 7 locations across the Forest of Dean. This is part of our summer programme offer in partnership with a variety of local organisations.

CINDERFORD PUBLIC LIVING ROOM

Between March and July 2026, Wydlwood Arts hosted the Public Living Room in Cinderford using a meanwhile space in the foyer of Ow Bist Community Center.

What is Camerados? 🧐
Camerados is a global social movement that believes ‘the answer to our problems is each other.’ It's all about being more human – chatting with someone new, helping a stranger (or asking for help), and looking out for one another during tough times, without trying to "fix" anyone. No judgments, just genuine connections to combat loneliness and restore a sense of community!

What’s a Public Living Room? 🤷
Think of it as a warm, welcoming pop-up space open to everyone – no agenda, no pressure, no need to purchase anything.

We'll have: 🧩
- Comfy seats, and nice lighting for a cosy vibe
- Cuppas (tea/coffee), help yourself to a brew and biscuits - all for free!
- Board games, playing cards, puzzles
- A place to share stories or listen
- Friendly faces to welcome you who are likeminded and open to making genuine connections.

It's not about therapy or advice; it's about listening, laughing, and being alongside each other. A place for the community! 🫂

The 6 Simple Camerado Principles 👇

1. It’s okay to be a bit rubbish – We all have off days; own it to connect deeper.

2. Don’t fix, just be alongside – Lend an ear without solving problems.

3. To be silly is to be human – Have fun and laugh to lift spirits!

4. Mix with folk not like you – Chat with diverse people to broaden horizons.

5. We can disagree respectfully – Share views politely and agree to disagree.

6. Ask someone who’s struggling to help you – Mutual support makes us all feel purposeful.
