Coming Together
Golden Threads Playback Theatre performance featuring community members, following on from a morning workshop and meal.
Produced by Wyldwood Arts for FOD Fringe 25.
The day started with a workshop led by Golden Thread which was attended by members of the public and Arts Space Accessible Drama Group. This was a chance to explore drama techniques and for people to get to know each other.
After the workshop and before the performance, we all shared a meal together. We ate around our Round tables and decorated the space with our community decor.
The afternoon performance was led by the playback theatre company. The performance involved the audience sharing stories which were then played back using music, movement, dance, poetry and song.
There was some beautiful moments and shared experiences with new friendships being made amongst audience members.
The Golden Thread have been together for over 10 years listening to community stories and playing them back.
I came with my best friend and made a new friend, "him over there!"
Today I was nervous coming here. Here's a song that I've written. Now I'm on centre stage.
A member of staff helps a (non-verbal) participant to share about doing a surf-a-thon. A photo of him surfing is shared around the room... wow!
I love being in groups, meeting friends and making new friends.
